By listening closely to its customers’ needs, Tekupit Oy has expanded its product range to include solutions suitable for heavy-duty metalworking applications.
Tekupit has already supplied Micronfilter Easyband and Evotech Pro fabric filtration units to the Finnish market. As a natural next step, the company delivered a Maxflow 1000 unit from the same manufacturer’s heavy-duty filtration range to a customer in the heavy engineering industry during the second half of 2024. The unit was also equipped with a Kalamit 900 magnetic separator.
Installed on top of a 15-cubic-metre tank, the Maxflow 1000 can process up to 1,000 litres of coolant per minute. Three large machine tools are currently connected to the filtration system, and its capacity allows additional machines to be connected in the future.
The Maxflow range consists of four fabric filtration units of different sizes. The largest model can process as much as 2,000 litres of coolant per minute. This means that even larger systems can be assembled using standard, readily available components.
For this project, the filtration unit was supplied as a standalone system and integrated by the customer into a larger equipment installation and its control automation. In previous projects, Tekupit has also designed and supplied the automation systems required to control its filtration units.
Another essential part of the system is the transfer pumps supplied by Tekupit. These pumps lift the coolant from the tank to the filtration unit.
As the final addition to the system, Tekupit supplied a coolant mixer manufactured by Zebra Skimmers. The mixer accurately proportions the correct amount of coolant concentrate into the water added to the tank. This ensures that the emulsion is mixed properly and that its concentration remains at the desired level.
The coolant mixer is part of Zebra Skimmers’ DAZZLE 1 automatic coolant mixing and distribution system. The complete system also includes automatic tank refill equipment for each connected machine tool, including level sensors and valves.
